How I Got Unbelievable YouTube Ad Results
I got amazing results from one simple YouTube ad in December 2025. Perhaps it’s because I’m offering something unique.
It’s not a product or a service.
It’s not what most people want to advertise.
I’m offering good news – and hope.
And it turns out that hope is what many people need and want these days. Especially when it comes to caring about wildlife and the environment.
In 2025, I started a podcast called Wildlife Wins.
The goal is to share “good news” that’s happening for animals and their environments, including both domestic animals and wildlife, around the world.
How does it work?
I interview leaders who are moving forward agendas to save, rehabilitate, or encourage animal welfare and habitats. That may be talking to a volunteer who coordinates teams of other volunteers to patrol beaches in South Florida, so that sea turtles can nest safely and their young can make it back into the seas when they are done. One organization’s work has saved over 280,000 hatchlings so far!
Or it may be talking to domestic animal groups, like the Beagle Freedom Project, that is systematically closing animal testing labs and re-homing animals that have been used for product testing. Or talking to the person who started the backstage “meet and greet” for animals at music concerts that set off a decade of successful adoptions.
I want to talk to anyone who is making a difference and has created real change.
What does success look like? Getting the word out to as many people as possible – growing the audience and subscribers to the podcast.
How’s it going?
It started out very slowly. Just a dozen or so views to each podcast (I’m posting on YouTube to start out) and only a handful of subscribers. By the beginning of December, I was thinking about how I might increase audience awareness. I decided to do a test and just committed some money towards a YouTube ad.
I worked with Rachel, my colleague, to put together the strongest ad we could and launched it on December 16th.
The results are below. On average, I started out getting 10 new views a day. Most startlingly, roughly 50% of the new views led to subscriber growth. By the end of the month, I’d grown from four subscribers to 90 Subscribers.

What did I learn?
- I learned that YouTube can be a great channel for advertising.
- I learned that the right ad can go a long way.
- I learned that if you give people what they want to see, they will respond by subscribing.
I’m expecting more success in 2026 and you can bet that I’ll be doubling down on those ads! If you’d like to check it out for yourself, here’s the link to the podcast.
Enjoy!
